Service Pack updates & enhancements for Lawson Fashion PLM

Lawson Software announced Service Pack updates and enhancements for Lawson Fashion PLM. This latest delivery is available now and offers more than two dozen new features as well as a standardized interface between Lawson Fashion PLM and the full Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System.

Lawson Fashion PLM supports the product design and development processes of private brand retailers and manufacturers of apparel and accessories. It helps improve collaboration between the internal and external elements of an organization’s supply chain, helping to speed time to market for products while helping to reduce costs and improve product quality.

The enhancements in this latest delivery demonstrate Lawson’s industry-specific focus and takes into account Lawson fashion customer feedback on key business challenges. The new enhancements cover the solution’s Storyboard, Line Optimizer, Product Manager, Fabric & Trim, and Source modules. They include added ease of use features such as new “select-all” boxes on pages where actions can be performed against multiple items, quick copy buttons to repeat information such as colorways, sizes and quantities required in product sample requests, and a keyword search in the application’s Point of Measure dictionary for easier administration.

In addition to functional enhancements, this latest release includes the first delivery of a standard interface between Lawson Fashion PLM and the Lawson M3 Enterprise Management system for fashion companies. This first phase enables the transfer of styles created in Lawson Fashion PLM into the Lawson M3 Enterprise Management system for sourcing and production. The interface enables companies to either deploy PLM and Enterprise Management applications at the same time or separately. It then allows the organization to more easily transfer style information between Lawson Fashion PLM and the Lawson M3 Enterprise Management system.

“Lawson Fashion PLM can deliver meaningful value to apparel manufacturers and private brand retailers,” said Frédéric Champalbert, general manager, Fashion, for Lawson. “Moving forward, fashion companies need to look for integrated technology solutions to help solve a wider range of business challenges. We think of this as ‘holistic PLM,’ which links processes from creative concept through design, product development, planning sourcing and production even through to delivery to the retail outlet. It’s about better managing the entire lifecycle of each product.”
